An Image Map is an image with clickable areas with each area being a link to something such as a web page, a file or an email address. Image Maps are normally found on web pages however there’s nothing to stop you creating one in Excel and that’s what I’m going to show you in this video.
In the video I place an image into a worksheet and make a couple of areas of the image clickable so when someone clicks on those areas it takes them to a specific cell on a different worksheet.

The first step is to insert the map. I used free SVG that I downloaded from Pixabay. To insert the image use Insert > Picture > Place over Cells
Then insert a shape (Insert > Shape) and place it over the part of the map that you want to define as a clickable area. You can use any pre-defined shape such as rectangle or circle, or use the Scribble/Freeform tool to draw a non-standard shape.
To define the destination when the shape is clicked, select the shape, click Insert > Link and choose the appropriate destination (file, URL, email address, sheet in this document, named range in this document)
