Macros are used to save you time by automating tasks. Any task can be automated using a macro.
For example, I have a friend who works for a small company. He often has to print Excel reports using different paper sizes – A4 and Letter. Although it’s easy to switch between them, he has to remember the commands. So to help him, I created a macro for him, which took me less than 5 minutes to do. Now, with a single mouse click he can switch between paper sizes. This is just one simple example of a macro in Excel.
